The Nigerian international is currently among the highest-paid African footballers after securing a lucrative deal at Galatasaray. However, fresh reports from Spain indicate that financial considerations may no longer be the biggest obstacle standing between Osimhen and a move to La Liga.

According to reports, Atletico Madrid have been offered the chance to sign the 27-year-old striker, with Osimhen willing to lower his salary demands to improve the chances of a deal being completed. The striker is said to be attracted by the prospect of working under Diego Simeone and competing in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

Osimhen’s current earnings are believed to be one of the major concerns for interested clubs. Reports suggest the striker earns a package worth around €20 million annually, making any transfer financially challenging for most European sides.

Despite interest from several clubs across Europe, Atletico Madrid are emerging as one of the strongest contenders for his signature. The Spanish club are reportedly evaluating the financial implications of a deal while also considering Galatasaray’s valuation of the player.

The former Napoli forward has remained one of the most sought-after strikers in world football thanks to his goalscoring record and consistent performances at both club and international level. His combination of pace, strength and finishing ability continues to attract attention from top European clubs.

A move to Atletico Madrid would also reunite Osimhen with fellow Nigerian international Ademola Lookman, who is currently part of Diego Simeone’s squad. Reports in Spain claim that this connection could play a role in the striker’s interest in the move.

While negotiations remain at an early stage, Osimhen’s reported willingness to reduce his salary could prove decisive in determining whether Atletico Madrid decide to intensify their pursuit of the Super Eagles star.
