Calvin Bassey has earned praise from former Premier League midfielder Ravel Morrison after another impressive performance for Fulham.

The Super Eagles defender played a major role in Fulham’s opening goal during their Premier League clash against Manchester United. Bassey showed great strength and determination as he brushed aside a challenge before driving into the penalty area and testing the goalkeeper with a powerful effort. The rebound eventually led to an own goal that put Fulham ahead.

Reacting to the move, Morrison praised the Nigerian international for his defending and overall contribution, describing his display as one of the standout moments of the match.

Bassey has become one of Fulham’s most reliable performers since joining the club. His physical presence, pace and ability to play both at centre-back and left-back have made him an important player for the London side.

Against Manchester United, the Nigerian defender was solid at the back and also showed his attacking qualities. His powerful run helped create the breakthrough as Fulham dominated large parts of the game before eventually settling for a draw.

The performance will also be encouraging for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who continues to rely on Bassey as one of the leaders of Nigeria’s defence.

At 26, Bassey remains one of the most experienced players in the national team setup and continues to perform consistently in the Premier League.

His latest display against Manchester United once again highlighted why he is highly rated by teammates, coaches and former players.

With the AFCON qualifiers approaching, Nigerian fans will be hoping Bassey carries this form into the international stage and helps strengthen the Super Eagles backline in the crucial matches ahead.
