Victor Osimhen has received another big compliment following his impressive performances for Galatasaray.
Former footballer Hugo Borst believes the Nigerian striker has done so much for the Turkish giants that some of the team’s problems have gone unnoticed because of his goals and overall impact.
Speaking about Galatasaray’s recent performances, Borst said Osimhen’s presence has helped the club stay competitive even when the team has not been at its best.
According to him, the Super Eagles star has often carried the attacking responsibility and delivered when his team needed him most.
Borst also suggested that once Osimhen is fully fit and back to his best, Galatasaray could become even stronger.
“Osimhen is coming,” he said while discussing the striker’s importance to the team.
The Nigerian international has remained one of the most consistent forwards in Europe over the last few seasons. Since leaving Napoli for Galatasaray, he has continued to score goals regularly and has become a fan favourite in Istanbul. Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the club’s most influential players since his arrival.
His performances have also been encouraging for Nigeria.
With AFCON qualifiers approaching, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will be pleased to see his leading striker maintaining high standards at club level.
Osimhen remains one of the first names on Nigeria’s team sheet and his experience could be vital as the Super Eagles chase qualification.
As for Galatasaray supporters, Borst’s comments will likely be seen as recognition of what the striker brings to the club every week.
The goals, leadership and work rate have made him one of the most important players in the squad.
If he continues in the same form, both Galatasaray and Nigeria will hope he can lead them to more success before the season ends.
