Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly reluctant to bring his AC Milan career to an end this summer despite growing interest from Turkish side Trabzonspor and uncertainty surrounding his future at the Serie A club.

The Super Eagles winger spent last season on loan at Fulham, where he rediscovered flashes of the form that made him one of Nigeria’s most exciting attackers. Chukwueze registered three goals and four assists in 23 Premier League appearances, but the London club have so far declined to activate the agreed purchase option because they consider AC Milan’s asking price too high.

With Fulham unwilling to complete a permanent deal under the current terms, Chukwueze returned to AC Milan this summer expecting discussions over his future. While Trabzonspor have emerged as one of the clubs pushing hardest to sign the 27-year-old, the Nigerian international is understood to be in no rush to leave San Siro.

According to reports, Chukwueze believes he still has unfinished business at AC Milan and wants the opportunity to fight for his place in the squad rather than immediately accept a move elsewhere. The former Villarreal star remains under contract with the Rossoneri until 2028, giving the Italian giants control over any potential transfer.

Trabzonspor are keen to strengthen their attack ahead of the new campaign and have reportedly submitted a bid worth around €15 million for the Nigerian winger. The Turkish club already boasts a strong Nigerian contingent, including Paul Onuachu, Anthony Nwakaeme and Chibuike Nwaiwu, making Chukwueze an attractive addition to the squad.

Despite the interest, negotiations remain at an early stage, with no agreement reached between the two clubs. Chukwueze’s desire to remain at Milan has also complicated the situation, leaving his future unresolved as the summer transfer window gathers momentum.

The Super Eagles star is expected to report for preseason with AC Milan unless a deal acceptable to both the player and the club materialises in the coming weeks. His next move will be closely monitored by Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, who will be hoping the winger secures regular playing time ahead of the Super Eagles’ upcoming international assignments.
