Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven have confirmed a new contract for Nigeria eligible forward Samuel Dumbili, securing the teenager’s future at the club until June 2028. The announcement comes just weeks after his younger brother Nathan Dumbili left the Eredivisie side following the expiration of his contract.
The new agreement is a major vote of confidence in the 18 year old attacker, who has spent most of his football development within the PSV youth system after joining the club’s academy at the age of 10.
While Nathan’s journey at PSV came to an end earlier this year, Samuel has chosen to continue his development in Eindhoven, where he is regarded as one of the promising young talents in the club’s ranks.
The contract extension is expected to provide the young forward with an opportunity to push closer to senior football. Reports suggest he could feature prominently for Jong PSV during the 2026–27 campaign as he continues his progression toward the first team.
PSV have built a strong reputation for nurturing young talents and turning academy prospects into top level professionals. The Dutch club will hope Dumbili can follow a similar path as he seeks to establish himself within the club’s long term plans.
The development is another encouraging sign of the growing number of talented youngsters with Nigerian roots making their way through elite European academies. Although Samuel is yet to represent Nigeria at senior level, his progress will undoubtedly be monitored closely by those involved with the country’s national teams.
With his future now secured until 2028, Dumbili’s immediate focus will be on continuing his development and proving that he can eventually make the leap from youth football to PSV’s senior squad.
