Victor Osimhen scored for the third game running on Friday night as Galatasaray won 4-0 at Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.
He did it a day after his partner gave birth to their second child, a daughter named Liora Audrey.
Chidozie Awaziem, his Super Eagles teammate, played all 90 minutes for the hosts and spent most of it on the wrong end of the scoreline.
Gabriel Sara’s delivery found Osimhen in the box and he rose to head it home at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium.
Awaziem had been marking him, but the delivery beat the defence.
The goal was Osimhen’s ninth league goal in eight appearances this season. He also has three assists in that time.

Osimhen had stayed in Istanbul on Thursday after the birth was announced. He travelled to Konya separately on Friday to join the squad, and he was on the pitch when the game kicked off.
The visitors never really let Konyaspor settle. Yunus Akgün made it 2-0 in the 28th minute with a hard strike from outside the box.
Aleksey Batrakov added the third four minutes into the second half, running onto a long ball from Sara. It was his first Süper Lig goal for the club. Rafael Leão then converted a penalty in the 55th minute for his first Galatasaray goal.
Osimhen came off just after the hour mark, with Deniz Gül replacing him. Galatasaray had 16 shots to Konyaspor’s nine, and eight of theirs were on target. Uğurcan Çakır kept the clean sheet, which meant a few saves when Konyaspor did get forward.

This was the third game in a row Osimhen has scored. He got one in the 4-2 win over Lille in the Champions League.
He then scored both goals in Monday’s 2-1 derby win over Fenerbahçe, the first in the 29th minute and the second in the 44th.
The win lifts Galatasaray to 25 points from 10 games. That is five clear of Amedspor, who have a game in hand. Konyaspor are on eight points and sit 15th, just above the relegation zone.

It was a quiet night for Awaziem, who started and finished the game but could do little about a side this sharp. Konyaspor managed nine shots, and only one tested Çakır.
The more useful takeaway is Osimhen’s form. He is scoring regularly, heading in goals and creating them for others.
Galatasaray will look to stretch their lead at the top. Konyaspor need a response quickly if they want to move clear of the bottom three.
