Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi went the full distance at the back as Hull City and Brentford shared the points in Sunday’s Premier League game.

McBurnie’s penalty put Hull ahead, but Dango Ouattara pulled Brentford level after the break.

Hull took the lead in the 24th minute. First, Brentford goalkeeper Kelleher played a short pass towards Hickey in the six-yard box.

Then Tim Iroegbunam pressed, won the ball and was brought down. As a result, Oli McBurnie stepped up and scored from the spot.

However, Brentford stayed in the game. After the break, they sent on Damsgaard and Anthony and the pair combined down the right.

Damsgaard’s cross wasn’t cleared by Lewie Coyle and Thiago prodded it across for Ouattara to finish from close range in the 63rd minute.

Following the equaliser, Brentford pushed hard for a winner. Anthony went close with a shot and a header and Tzolakis saved one of them.

At the other end, Kelleher made a strong save to deny Cho. In the end, neither side could find a second.

Meanwhile, Ajayi started in Hull’s five-man defence alongside Egan, Coyle, Herrington and Giles. He played the full 90 minutes.

That was a solid shift against a Brentford side that created plenty after the changes.

Furthermore, Ajayi is doing this in the Premier League. Facing top-level strikers every weekend keeps him sharp, which is exactly what Nigeria need ahead of the next window.

Next, Hull host Ipswich on 31 October, and then travel to Arsenal on 7 November. Ajayi will hope to keep his place for both.
