The Udinese shot-stopper was recently asked to rank his top three goalkeepers and offered an interesting response that reflected both personal admiration and current form.

Nigeria and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Okoye revealed that Ter Stegen occupies a special place in his heart because of their shared roots in German football. He, however, admitted that if current performances are taken into consideration, Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma has moved ahead of everyone else.

“Ter Stegen is number one for me because when I was a young player at Borussia Monchengladbach, he was already playing with the U-19s and I always looked up to him. But right now, I think Donnarumma is the strongest goalkeeper. At the moment, he’s the best. He is on a different level,” the Super Eagles goalkeeper explained.
