The Super Eagles striker came off the bench on Friday night and set up a stoppage-time goal as Galatasaray beat Kasımpaşa 3-1 at RAMS Park.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi levelled for the visitors at 1-1 in the 68th minute, punishing a poorly cleared corner.

Galatasaray were by then down to ten men, and the game looked set to drift. Okan Buruk responded by sending on Osimhen and Leroy Sané in the 77th minute. Barış Alper Yılmaz restored the lead in the 90th, and Osimhen then picked out Mario Lemina in added time to make it 3-1.

The striker had not featured since September 4, when a groin problem forced him out of the win at Başakşehir.

He didn’t  participate  in three league fixtures and the Champions League opener, and the club kept him on the bench here rather than risk a setback. His assist takes him to nine goal contributions this season.

Yesterday’s result sent Galatasaray to the top on 16 points. Kasımpaşa stay on 10 and lost for the first time this campaign.

Barcelona are next. Galatasaray host them in the Champions League on Tuesday, October 13, and Osimhen is tipped to start. Just 13 minutes of action is no guarantee of 90-minute fitness, so Okan Buruk will have a decision to make in the next game.
