Comoros are officially the home side on Friday, but the tie was moved to Nigeria, so both legs will be played in Ikenne. The return fixture, with Nigeria listed as hosts, follows at the same ground on Tuesday, 13 October. According to the NFF’s accreditation notice for the first leg, media passes will be collected at the stadium on Thursday.
Ajibade, Echegini and Payne are in, with five more due
The camp in Ijebu-Ode filled up quickly after the weekend’s club games in Europe. The NFF said Ajibade, defender Michelle Alozie, midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, and forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Janet Akekoromowei were among the latest arrivals, bringing the group to 21 players by Tuesday.
That group had one goalkeeper, eight defenders, eight midfielders and four forwards, and the federation said five more players, two goalkeepers and three forwards, were expected to report by Tuesday evening. If they arrive as planned, Eguavoen will have his whole squad together for the final sessions before Friday, which matters for a squad that only had its home-based players for the first days of camp. You can see every name in our Super Falcons squad list for the Comoros double-header.
Comoros are already training on the Ikenne pitch
The visitors arrived in Ijebu-Ode on Monday night and trained for the first time at the Remo Stars Stadium on Tuesday evening, according to the NFF’s camp update. Getting a feel for the surface early is a sensible move for a side that will play both legs at the same venue.
CAF has handed the first leg to a Rwandan refereeing crew led by Henriette Byukusenge. Her assistants are Sandrine Murangwa and Regine Mukayiranga, with Aline Umutoni as fourth official. Namibia’s Fransiska Katjaimo is the referee assessor and Oumou Sy of Burkina Faso is the match commissioner.

A big Friday margin would ease the load for Tuesday’s return leg
Nigeria go in as clear favourites, and a big first-leg margin would let Eguavoen manage minutes on Tuesday for players who flew in straight from club duty. The winner of the tie moves to the third round of African qualifying in 2027, with only two places at the Los Angeles tournament available to the continent.
Eguavoen is in charge on an interim basis for this window, and our report on how the Super Falcons camp opened in Ijebu-Ode covers his backroom staff and the road the Falcons are trying to take back to the Olympics after Paris 2024.
