Interim Super Falcons head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 28-player Super Falcons squad, including Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, for Nigeria’s LA 2028 Olympic Games qualifying second-round tie against Comoros. The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the list, with Comoros hosting the first leg on Friday, 9 October and the return leg set for Tuesday, 13 October at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.
Invited players are to report in camp on Saturday, 3 October at the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode, according to the NFF’s squad announcement. Eguavoen was named interim boss for the Comoros fixtures in September.

Eguavoen leans on the Super Falcons’ European core
The backbone of the list is familiar. Nnadozie leads the goalkeepers, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin and Ashley Plumptre are among the defenders, and the midfield includes Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Paris Saint-Germain’s Jennifer Echegini. Ajibade, Oshoala, Gift Monday and Uchenna Kanu headline a forward group of ten, which gives Eguavoen plenty of options for two games in five days.
Benfica supply three players in Demehin, Flourish Sabastine and Janet Akekoromowei, while Saudi-based Ucheibe, Oshoala and Plumptre keep their places. The squad comes days after defender Osinachi Ohale retired from international football after 16 years, so this will be the first Super Falcons camp without her.
Eight home-based players get their chance, three of them from Edo Queens
Eguavoen has handed eight call-ups to players from the Nigeria Women Football League. Nasarawa Amazons provide Farida Abdulwahab, Joy Igbokwe and Fatimoh Solaty, Edo Queens have goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, defender Tumininu Adeshina and forward Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, while Glory Edet of Bayelsa Queens and Favour Nkwocha of FC Robo Queens complete the domestic group.
The Edo Queens trio arrive at a tense time for their club, which is waiting on the outcome of the dispute over the annulled WAFU B final shootout against Ampem Darkoa. For Nigeria, a place in the next stage of the Olympic race depends on getting a result in Comoros on 9 October and finishing the job in Ikenne four days later.
