Former Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Greek Super League side Aris after the club reached an agreement with Watford for his transfer.
The 26-year-old midfielder is expected to bring an end to his seven-year association with the English club as he prepares for a fresh challenge in Greece. The deal is reported to be worth up to €2 million, including performance-related bonuses, with Dele-Bashiru set to sign a three-year contract.
New chapter after Watford spell
Dele-Bashiru joined Watford from Manchester City’s academy in 2019 and went on to make more than 80 appearances for the Championship side across all competitions.
During his time at Vicarage Road, he showed flashes of his quality but also faced injury setbacks that limited his ability to establish himself as a regular starter. Despite those challenges, he remained a valued member of the squad and gained valuable experience in English football.
Successful loan spell opened doors
The midfielder spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Turkish side Gençlerbirliği, where he featured regularly and gained important first-team experience.
His performances attracted interest from clubs outside England, with Aris moving quickly to secure his services ahead of the new season. The Greek club see Dele-Bashiru as an important addition as they strengthen their squad for domestic and European ambitions.
