French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg have strengthened their youth ranks with the signing of highly rated attacker Kingsley Olufade from fellow French side Lille.
The move was confirmed by Strasbourg on Thursday, with the club announcing Olufade as one of three young recruits brought in to bolster their reserve team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The teenager arrives after an encouraging campaign in Lille’s academy, where he continued his development as one of the club’s promising attacking prospects.
Nigeria, France and Togo all remain options
Olufade’s international future is one that could attract attention in the coming years.
The forward is eligible to represent Nigeria through his grandfather, while he also qualifies for France by birth and Togo through his father, former international footballer Adékambi Olufadé. The youngster has not yet represented any country at senior level.
His father enjoyed a distinguished career that included spells with clubs in France and Belgium before representing Togo at both the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Reward for strong performances at Lille
Olufade earned recognition after a productive season with Lille’s U19 side.
According to details published following his transfer, the attacker scored six goals in 16 appearances during the campaign and also gained experience with Lille’s reserve team after progressing through the club’s academy system.
Having joined Lille as an 11-year-old, he worked his way through the youth ranks before making the next step in his career with Strasbourg.
Another dual-national talent to watch
Nigeria’s football authorities have increasingly monitored young players with multiple international options as the race for elite dual-national talents intensifies across Europe.
While Olufade is still at an early stage of his development, his move to Strasbourg provides a new platform to continue his progress in French football. If his development continues on its current trajectory, he could eventually emerge as a player of interest for the Super Eagles setup.
For now, the focus will be on establishing himself at Strasbourg and building on the promise he showed during his time at Lille.
