West Bromwich Albion are closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian eligible forward Kareem Tunde from Levante in a move that could be worth up to £4.3 million.
The Championship club have reportedly reached an agreement with Levante for the 21 year old attacker, who has emerged as one of the latest additions to West Brom’s plans for the new season.
The proposed transfer is understood to include an initial fee of £2.6 million, with a further £1.7 million available through performance related bonuses.
Levante are also expected to retain a 20 percent share of any future profit West Brom make from Tunde’s sale.
Tunde’s potential move to England comes after his breakthrough campaign in Spanish football. The Barcelona born forward made his La Liga debut for Levante during the 2025/26 season and went on to make 21 appearances in the Spanish top flight.
Although he did not score in those league appearances, Tunde showed qualities that attracted interest from clubs outside Spain. He also registered one assist during his first season of regular senior football at the highest level.
Primarily a right winger, Tunde is left footed and is capable of operating on either side of the attack. His versatility is one of the qualities West Brom are understood to value as they continue to strengthen their attacking options.
The Nigerian eligible forward developed through some of Spain’s most recognised youth systems. He spent time with Barcelona after beginning his football journey at Sant Andreu before later continuing his development with Damm and Levante.
Tunde joined Levante’s youth setup in 2022 and eventually progressed into the first team. His contract with the Spanish club was extended in March 2026 and was due to run until the summer of 2029.
Despite that long term agreement, West Brom’s interest appears to have accelerated his departure from Spain.
The forward was left out of Levante’s squad for their recent league fixture against Osasuna, further indicating that his move to England could be completed soon.
West Brom are looking to strengthen their squad as they target promotion from the Championship, and Tunde’s arrival would give manager James Morrison another young attacking option with significant room for development.
The deal would also provide Tunde with an opportunity to continue his progression in English football after gaining valuable experience in La Liga.
Tunde is yet to make his senior international debut for either Nigeria or Spain. He remains eligible for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father, while his Spanish background means he could also represent Spain.
With his move to West Brom now reportedly close, the 21 year old will have a major decision to make regarding his international future as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
