Galatasaray have rejected a series of offers worth up to 125 million euros for Victor Osimhen, insisting the Super Eagles striker remains central to their plans for the 2026/27 season. The Turkish champions have set a valuation of 150 million euros and will not entertain any bid below that figure.
Reports from Turkey indicate Galatasaray have knocked back offers from Atletico Madrid, an unnamed European club and a Saudi Pro League side, all in the region of 120 to 125 million euros. Club president Dursun Ozbek has made his position clear on the matter.
“We won’t sell him unless he wants to leave,” Ozbek [told Fotomac]
Ozbek had earlier stated the club did not sign Osimhen from Napoli last year with the intention of selling him on again. That stance has hardened as interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid has grown through the early part of the transfer window.
Galatasaray are reportedly preparing an improved deal that would keep Osimhen at the club until 2029, alongside a significant salary increase. With Mauro Icardi expected to depart after his contract expired at the end of June, the club is said to be considering handing Osimhen the captain’s armband and the number 9 shirt as part of a wider retention plan, Losing both forwards in the same window would leave Galatasaray thin up front as they aim to defend their Super Lig title and push further in the Champions League next season.
The Nigerian forward has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for Galatasaray since his move from Napoli, including 15 league goals and five assists in 22 matches this past season. He also contributed seven goals and three assists in 10 Champions League outings before Galatasaray were eliminated by Liverpool in the round of 16.
Those numbers form the basis of the club’s refusal to negotiate below their valuation, with officials pointing to his output as proof of his importance to the squad.
Sources in Turkey say a video meeting involving Osimhen, club management and head coach Okan Buruk left officials more confident that the striker wants to remain in Istanbul. Osimhen has also turned down personal terms worth between 30 and 35 million euros a season from a Saudi Arabian club, choosing to prioritise Champions League football over a lucrative move outside Europe, Galatasaray are also said to be building the rest of their squad with Osimhen in mind.
Turkish transfer sources have linked the club with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, moves the club hopes will strengthen the case for the Nigerian to stay.
Osimhen remains one of the most high profile Nigerian players in European football and his situation continues to draw close attention back home. He is also said to have advised Galatasaray to sign fellow Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare as competition and backup up front for next season.
With Galatasaray holding firm on their 150 million euro valuation and preparing a new long-term contract, the coming weeks will determine whether Osimhen stays in Istanbul or moves on. Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid remain interested parties, but for now the player and the club appear aligned on continuing the partnership that has produced back to back Super Lig titles.
