Brighton & Hove Albion’s growing investment in young Nigerian talent has continued with the signing of highly-rated teenager Valentin Joseph.
The Premier League club confirmed the arrival of the 18-year-old forward from Blackburn Rovers, making him the second Nigerian teenager to join the Seagulls this summer after the headline-grabbing acquisition of Zadok Yohanna.
Joseph arrives with a strong reputation after enjoying an outstanding campaign at youth level for Blackburn, where his goalscoring exploits attracted attention from several clubs across England.
Unlike Yohanna, who was signed to strengthen Brighton’s senior squad immediately, Joseph will begin his development with the club’s Under-21 side as he adapts to life on the south coast.
