Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has moved to calm speculation over his Udinese future, insisting his focus remains firmly with the Serie A club despite growing interest from Juventus.
Speaking about his situation at Udinese amid interest from clubs in Italy, Germany, England, and France, Okoye made clear where his head is at.
“I am really very happy at Udinese, and I really appreciate the association, all the employees, the beautiful city that has become my second home, and the people very much,” he told Transfermarkt.
He went on to credit the stability he has found at the club, pointing to the peace and routine that have helped him settle. However, he did not shut the door entirely on ambition elsewhere, acknowledging that bigger goals remain part of his career plans even as his attention stays with Udinese for now. Meanwhile, he added that he leaves transfer matters to his advisors, expressing full confidence in their handling of his future.
Okoye’s comments come after a standout 2025/26 campaign that has made him one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in Serie A. He kept ten clean sheets in 30 appearances, conceding just 32 goals as Udinese secured a 10th-place finish, and produced a string of eye-catching displays, including a man-of-the-match performance in a 3-0 win over AC Milan.
Notably, that form arrived despite a six-match suspension linked to a betting investigation, from which he was cleared of any intent to fix matches.
As a result of his consistency, Juventus have turned to Okoye after struggling to land their primary target, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez. Udinese, however, are reportedly holding out for a fee in the region of €15 million, a valuation comparable to what Juventus were prepared to offer for Martinez. Should a move materialise, Udinese have already identified Bologna’s Federico Ravaglia as a potential replacement between the posts.
Okoye’s rise has coincided with a stretch of impressive performances for the Super Eagles, where he capitalised on Stanley Nwabali’s extended absence to establish himself as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper.
His displays in pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Portugal further strengthened his claim to the jersey. Consequently, a move to a club of Juventus’ stature would raise his profile considerably heading into Nigeria’s AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign, potentially settling the goalkeeping debate under Eric Chelle for the foreseeable future.
With Udinese standing firm on their asking price and Juventus yet to table a formal offer, Okoye’s situation remains unresolved as the transfer window progresses. Though, the goalkeeper insists his focus is entirely on Udinese, leaving it to his representatives to navigate whatever comes next.
