Romanian SuperLiga outfit Universitatea Cluj have officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian winger Friday Adams ahead of the new season.
The 23-year-old arrives from fellow Romanian side FC Botoșani, where he established himself as one of the league’s most dependable wide players over the last three years.

Adams began his football journey at Ikon Allah Kaduna Academy in Nigeria before attracting attention from Russian youth setup FDC Vista. His development continued steadily, earning him a move to Armenian club FC Noah, where he made 35 appearances, scored two goals, and provided an assist.
His performances in Armenia opened the door to Romanian football, and he joined FC Botoșani in 2023. The versatile Nigerian adapted quickly to the demands of the Romanian top flight, becoming a regular figure in the squad.
During his time at Botoșani, Adams featured in more than 80 matches across all competitions, contributing both defensively and offensively. His pace, work rate, tactical intelligence, and ability to operate in multiple positions made him a valuable asset for the club.
Although primarily deployed as a winger, Adams is equally comfortable playing as a right-back or central midfielder, offering tactical flexibility that could prove crucial for Universitatea Cluj in the upcoming campaign.
The move represents another significant step in the Nigerian’s European career as he seeks to help Universitatea Cluj strengthen their push for domestic and continental ambitions.
With his experience in the Romanian SuperLiga and reputation for consistency, Cluj supporters will be hoping Adams can make an immediate impact and become a key figure in the team’s plans for the new season.
